About CalFresh
CalFresh is a nutrition program that provides eligible households and individuals with a monthly allowance for groceries. Eligible students may be able to receive food expenses of $150 or more.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Sonoma County is currently experiencing a high volume of CalFresh applications and doing their best to accommodate students' requests for CalFresh benefits. Due to the high demand for support, interview appointments may not scheduled until as late as December.
We strongly suggest visiting the county office in person to expedite the completion of your interview. While the office is open from 8 AM - 4 PM, we advise visiting the office as soon as it opens at 8 AM in order to speak with a county worker. Please visit the following address:
Health and Human Services (Sonoma County) - Santa Rosa Office
2550 Paulin Drive
Santa Rosa, CA 94503
We understand how frustrating wait times can be and are working hard to find resources for students in need while they wait for their benefits. Please contact us if you're experiencing an urgent need for food resources and we will do our best to accommodate you.
***Keep in mind that once you have been approved for CalFresh benefits, you will receive funds on your EBT card sent in the mail. Your card balance will include funds for the months in which you were waiting for benefits (back dates to the date your application was submitted). For example, if you applied in August but don't receive your EBT card until December, your balance will include funds for September, October, November, AND December.***
If you have any questions or need support, please schedule an appointment with our team HERE or email us at calfresh@sonoma.edu.
